Hill Tribe
There is a daily show for their living styles.
Although the hill tribes can be regarded as "primitive",
in that they pre-industrial, pre-literate societies,
hill tribe communities are not group of simple
people living simple lives. Their customs, laws
and beliefs are complex and very sophisticated,
designed to harmonize relationships between individuals
and to conserve their environment. It is only
in recent years, with the effects of too rapid
population growth and competition for land, that
their ancient way of life has proved to be insufficient
to cope with the stresses resulting from external
forces.

Mae Sa Elephant Camp
Asian elephant has different race regarding where
they live. For example the Indian elephant is
bigger and has a thinner body than the Thai race.
Thai people are familiar with an elephant since
Sukothai kingdom. Nowadays, elephants not only
live in wild and national parks, but also live
in elephant camps in northern and northeastern
Thailand. The elephant camps offer elephant shows
and elephant rides are main activities related
to elephants arranged by many different elephant
camps. Usually, most elephant activities are held
in the morning and the entrance fee doesn't include
the elephant- ridding fee. Some elephant camps
also provide other activities such as rafting,
cartage riding, and etc. The following is the
elephant camp information around Chiang Mai.

Rafting Mae Cheam River
The Mae Chaem River thunders through a very narrow gorge.
Footbridges across the river at the Krairaj Resort and
high across the gorge 500 meters downstream make a circular
walk possible. A walk up from the downstream bridge
passes an ancient burial site (Land of Prehistoric Human),
the remains of which are in the National Museum in Chiang
Mai. Ancient drawings on rock beneath an overhang higher
up are of questionable authenticity, but a fine view
over the valley can be enjoyed from the rock outcrop
above at Doi Pa Chang.
